Company History
Immediately following his high school graduation, Micheal Peter began working toward his goal of creating a successfully construction company. As quickly as he was able to get his new business up and running, he began acquiring a variety of jobs of various sizes. They ranged from small jobs, such as building a deck or a small shed, to large more complicated jobs, such as construction a large addition to a pre-existing home.
Within a year or two, the business had grown and Mike was predominantly focused on framing homes fro quite a few different builders throughout the western shore of Maryland, and large projects of his own, such a large renovation or addition to a home. It was during this time that the word got out to both contractors and homeowners in the area that not only was Mike a skilled framer, he was also a skilled carpenter, and was the kind of builder who would begin a job, focus on it until it was completed, and then present a finished project of the highest quality. He soon began being asked to consider taking on commercial work as well as residential, and quickly found himself quite busy in both capacities, mainly in the historic areas of Annapolis, MD. Annapolis is particularly tough are to work in, especially in the residential sector, primarily due to the strict standards of the Annapolis Historical Society. Nearly the entire downtown area is in the historical district, and all work must adhere to the highest standards. There are several establishments that are well known in Annapolis that Mike did major restoration work in, including:
- O’Leary’s Restaurant
- The Tap Room at Middleton’s Tavern
- Marmaduke’s Pub (now Ruth’s Chris Steak House)
In addition,
- He renovated the Ahern Building, a large commercial office building in the Annapolis area
- He renovated the local hardware store inHillsmere Shores, just outside of downtown Annapolis
- He constructed two Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, one in Annapois, and one in Waldorf, MD.
After nearly 10 years of working in the Annapolis area, Mike decided to move to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and quickly established himself as one of the premier custom builders in the area. Although he has done several commercial jobs in this-area, such as the Sears store in Chester, MD, his focus returned to residential construction, considering the rapid demand in the residential market at that time. He developed strong working relationships with many of the local developers, several of which, after seeing the quality of Mike’s work, requested he be one of the builders in their communities. He developed a particularly strong working relationship with Calvin Gray Jr., who, along with his farther, Calvin Gray Sr. was the predominant developer of Severna Park area of Anne Arundel County. Not only has he built homes in several of the subdivisions Mt Gray has developed in the area, he was chosen to build homes for both him and his partner, Marion Wilson, and is currently working with him on several projects.
Recently, Mike ventured into the next level of residential construction, and purchased a recorded subdivision in Caroline County, and is overseeing the completion of the infrastructure work, and the completion of a model home in the subdivision, Ridgeway Estates.
At the present time, along with Ridgeway Estates, Mike is doing what it is that he does best, and that is serving the needs of those looking to have a truly custom home or office built to the finest standards possible!
